Well not quite midnight, but I am so glad we decided to visit the Lincoln Memorial at night! It is so impressive all lit up. What an incredible view...the Lincoln Memorial on one side and the Washington Monument and reflecting pool on the other. WOW.
Here is the Washington Monument at night. Afterwards we drove around Washington DC and saw many other memorials that are lit up at night...what a fun way to see them! WWII Memorial, FDR Memorial, etc. We drove by the White House nice and s-l-o-w then went around and did it again because half the car didn't see it the first time!
This statue is so breathtaking. It is so large. There is a very quiet and respectful mood in the memorial.
